About the Role

ECBM is looking for an Account Manager to join our team. This person will market and negotiate winning terms for assigned new business prospects under the guidance of the New Business Brokerage Manager. The will develop and maintain relationships with insurance carriers, internal producers, and brokerage team.

Responsibilities

  1. Meet/discuss with producer to review new business opportunities assigned. Identify additional information required, if any.
  2. Market new business opportunities assigned by preparation of professional and complete submissions designed to achieve needed results. Review information and determine additional information needed. Assist the producer in gathering information where appropriate.
  3. Review current coverage terms. Identify possible coverage improvements that assist in the sales effort.
  4. Prepare applications in agency management system in accordance with ECBM standards using Agency "Additional Coverages" in applications.
  5. Review account loss information. Prepare loss summaries and gather large loss status information. Identify trends for possible corrective action.
  6. Prepare other information required for underwriting and pricing of account by carrier including profile prepared by producer, schedules, COPE, driver and vehicle information, IFTA, loss control and safety information, financial and product information, supplemental applications, etc.
  7. Identify potential risk control responses.
  8. Identify "what's needed to win" and work to achieve needed results.
  9. Pre-qualify carrier interest in account.
  10. Send submissions, follow through, and negotiate terms, conditions, coverages and pricing. Maintain standard commission on all accounts, where possible.
  11. Prepare final proposal.
  12. Complete binding checklist with assistance of marketing assistant.
  13. Direct and place business where possible according to ECBM business plan with partner carriers and brokers.
  14. Use markets wisely. Provide technical and sales support. Bind and prepare written accounts for turning over to commercial lines in accordance with ECBM standards.
  15. Work with marketing assistant to complete the binding process.
  16. Meet with commercial lines personnel to review account when turning over.
  17. Maintain and update account status in marketing log.
  18. Help identify target carriers' appetite and products that increase new business opportunities for ECBM.
  19. Maintain relationships with other department personnel.
  20. Assist in the firm's cross-selling efforts.
  21. Perform quality reviews.
  22. Respond to agency quality management efforts.
  23. Assist in reduction of E & O exposures.
  24. Assist all clients, departments or associates when required and request to maintain the firm's relationships and good standing.
  25. Special Projects as assigned by management.

Qualifications

  • College degree preferred, but high school diploma or equivalency required.
  • Professional Designation is a plus.
  • Must have good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Must have at least 3-5 years of insurance experience with a good understanding of multi-line commercial insurance contracts and coverages.
  • Negotiation skills should be highly developed.
  • Must be organized and possess at least average computer skills.
  • Property Casualty Agent's License required.
