Position Title: Cake Decorator

Wage: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour

Shift: 1st

Hours: 6:00am - 2:00pm (must work Sundays) 

QPS Employment Group has a great Cake Decorator position available at a company in Racine, WI. The Cake Decorator specializes in the artistry of cake and pastry building, icing, and decorating using scratch specialty creams, fondant, and various other cake decorating materials and accessories. This company is willing to teach these skills to the right candidate and we encourage you to apply if you have great hand to eye coordination, creativity, a team-minded attitude, and a passion for decorating cakes while evaluating products to maintain the Quality standard.

Cake Decorator Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Decorate, build and ice custom cakes and other treats as specified by order slip
- Place finished products carefully on racks for cooling/wrapping and ensuring proper storage
- Use specific decorating tools
- Follow proper bakery department, safety and security procedures and standards
- Follow Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) guidelines as it refers to proper technique and quality
- Clean and sanitize equipment

Cake Decorator Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
- Previous cake creation or finishing experience is a plus
- Knowledgeable of building and decorating techniques, and familiar with pricing and quality standards of various cake orders and decorating styles
- Able to multi-task and adhere to deadlines while working independently
- Able to ice and construct sixteen 7” cakes per hour within six months, and twelve quarter sheet cakes per hour within six months
- Good communication skills
- Able to collaborate with a team
- Able to learn and use knives and other hand tools
- Able to lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds occasionally throughout shift
- Strong attention to detail
- Able to distinguish between colors
- Good mathematical skills necessary to create and follow recipes
