The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) provides direct nursing care and support services to incarcerated individuals at Salinas Valley State Prison (SVSP). This role requires reliability, adaptability, and strong clinical skills to assist in delivering healthcare within a secure correctional setting while following established policies and procedures.

• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, following facility and physician protocols.
• Monitor patient conditions, record vital signs, and document care accurately in medical records.
• Assist with patient assessments, triage, and routine sick calls.
• Support physicians, registered nurses, and other healthcare staff in providing care.
• Respond to medical emergencies and assist with crisis interventions as needed.
• Maintain compliance with correctional facility security, infection control, and HIPAA guidelines.
• Participate in mandatory orientation and training programs to adapt to facility procedures.

• Current LVN license in the state of practice.
• Previous experience in medical, psychiatric, or correctional healthcare preferred.
• Strong observation, communication, and clinical documentation skills.
• Must be reliable with excellent attendance and flexible for training requirements.
• Ability to work effectively within a secure, structured, and team-oriented environment.
