(See original listing for full locations.) Responsibilities The Criminal Investigator plans and conducts investigations relative to criminal statutes of tax administration and financial crimes. This may include access to SCI or Top Secret SAP and involves investigations with complex accounting problems, multi-jurisdictional data, international transfers, and cooperation with DOJ and IRS Foreign country attaches. Performs other investigative and enforcement duties such as testifying as a Government witness, assisting the U.S. Attorney, and collateral inquiries. Obtains, evaluates, and integrates information to identify large areas of noncompliance across professions, occupations, industries, or geographic regions. This position includes career progression (e.g., starting at a lower grade with potential non-competitive promotion to higher grades). Requirements Conditions of employment Must be a U.S. Citizen or National and provide proof of citizenship. Qualifications Basic requirements are provided for GL-07 and GL-09 levels, including specialized experience in investigation of criminal violations related to accounting or auditing of business or commercial practices, with options to substitute education for experience.
