Responsibilities

The responsibilities of this role encompass overseeing all aspects of acquiring, maintaining, and repairing medical technology, ensuring operational efficiency and reliability. The role involves establishing and defining departmental goals and objectives while preparing and monitoring budgets to maintain financial performance. It requires developing departmental policies and procedures that align with FHC's corporate strategy and maintaining the corporate Medical Equipment Management Plan, regularly assessing its effectiveness. Leadership responsibilities include directing and managing both technical and administrative personnel, guaranteeing adequate coverage and support for all FHC customers. Ensuring compliance with DNV and CMS standards is a key responsibility, along with collaborating with IS teams to align IT and cybersecurity initiatives with organizational goals. Additionally, the role involves representing Biomedical Services on committees, evaluating and negotiating contracts with vendors for services not performed in-house, and serving as a point of escalation for the biomedical team. Other duties include executing related assignments, aligning the biomedical team with FirstHealth's strategic priorities, and actively participating in the daily safety huddle to reinforce a culture of safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

Education and Formal Training: BA/BS Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, or Engineering discipline or 10 years' experience working in healthcare technology management operations. In addition, an AS Degree in Biomedical Technology or equivalent military training preferred.Work Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience, with increasing responsibilities, in healthcare technology management operations, preferably in a hospital environment.Certification: Certification as a Certified Healthcare Technology Manager (CHTM) and Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician (CBET) preferred.
