Job title: - Healthcare Data Scientist FHIR & HL7 Expertise

Location: Philadelphia PA

Job Summary:

We are seeking a curious and motivated Machine Learning Engineer to join the Foundational Data Analytics (FDA) Program - a strategic initiative aimed at building a modern, intelligent data ecosystem. In this role, you will support the development and deployment of machine learning models that power enterprise analytics, deliver predictive insights, and drive transformation across the healthcare landscape.

FDA Program Objectives:

• Single Source of Truth (SSOT): Establish a standardized, high-quality data infrastructure that ensures consistency and reliability.
• Multifunctional Version of Truth (MVOT): Enable agile integration of diverse data sources for dynamic analytics.
• Centralized Business Intelligence: Deliver automated, real-time insights to improve cost efficiency, quality, and overall performance.
• Capability Building: Enhance functions such as population health, member engagement, quality improvement, revenue optimization, total cost of care, and compliance/risk management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the development and training of machine learning models using both structured and unstructured healthcare data.
• Support data preprocessing, feature engineering, and model evaluation activities.
• Collaborate with senior ML engineers, data scientists, and data engineers to implement scalable ML solutions.
• Help monitor model performance and assist with model retraining and optimization.
• Document workflows, modeling assumptions, and results clearly and accurately.
• Contribute to the development of reusable machine learning components and pipelines.

Good to have skills: -

• Familiarity with SAP NetWeaver and SAP BW
• Experience in CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes)
• Experience in designing and maintaining GWT-based front-end components
• Ability to coordinate with Business Analysts for sprint planning and requirement gathering
• Experience in creating design artifacts (HLD/LLD, code coverage reports, etc.)

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years' experience in machine learning, data science, or analytics.
• Proficiency in Python and experience with ML libraries such as scikit-learn, pandas, or TensorFlow.
• Solid understanding of SQL and data querying techniques.
• Exposure to cloud platforms (preferably Azure) and tools like Databricks or Jupyter Notebooks.
• Strong analytical thinking and a desire to learn about healthcare data and standards.
• Familiarity with healthcare data standards such as FHIR and HL7, and an understanding of payer systems.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
