Job Description
We are seeking an experienced HR Manager to support our manufacturing client in Wood Dale, IL on a temporary assignment . This is a hands-on role focused on driving key HR initiatives in a fast-paced, production-driven environment. The ideal candidate brings strong manufacturing HR experience, excellent employee relations skills, and the ability to operate independently while partnering closely with plant leadership.
Key ResponsibilitiesEmployee Relations & HR Support
Serve as the on-site HR lead for production, maintenance, and administrative teams.
Provide daily HR guidance on employee relations, attendance, and policy interpretation.
Investigate and resolve employee issues in a fair and timely manner while maintaining confidentiality and compliance.
Recruitment & Onboarding
Manage hourly and salaried recruitment, including job postings, interviews, and offer coordination.
Support new hire orientation and onboarding to ensure a positive start for employees.
Partner with supervisors to identify staffing needs and maintain workforce levels.
HR Administration & Compliance
Administer HR processes including employee records, timekeeping, and FMLA/leave management.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations (EEO, ADA, FLSA, OSHA).
Maintain accurate HR metrics and assist with reporting as needed.
Performance & Culture
Support performance management and corrective action processes.
Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and safety on the production floor.
Partner with leadership to drive employee engagement initiatives.
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field preferred.
5+ years of progressive HR experience, including at least 3 years in a manufacturing environment.
Strong working knowledge of HR compliance, employee relations, and hourly workforce management.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
HR certification (PHR or SHRM-CP) preferred but not required.
