IT Manager
Location: Wheeling, IL (Primary)
Schedule:Onsite Monday–Friday; occasional Saturday hours as required; on-call 100% of the time (must be within 25 mile radius)
Pay rate: $130,000–$150,000 base salary + discretionary bonus
Duties:
- Design, implement, and maintain robust on-premise and hybrid infrastructure solutions to support company operations.
- Manage and administer VMware (vSphere, vCenter), Windows/Linux servers, storage systems, and network architecture.
- Oversee Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policies, and related enterprise systems.
- Ensure high system availability, scalability, and compliance with security and data protection standards.
- Monitor infrastructure performance, identify risks, and proactively resolve technical issues.
- Develop and maintain disaster recovery and backup strategies.
- Lead and mentor IT staff; provide training, support, and performance management for team members.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to align IT infrastructure initiatives with business goals.
- Maintain accurate documentation for configurations, system changes, and standard operating procedures.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in IT infrastructure, including 2–3 years in a leadership or management capacity.
- Proven hands-on experience managing on-prem servers and infrastructure environments.
- Strong technical proficiency in VMware, Active Directory, networking, storage (SAN/NAS), and firewalls.
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code, automation tools, and familiarity with DevOps/CI-CD practices a plus.
- Demonstrated troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Cisco, Microsoft, AWS, ITIL) preferred.
