PeopleSoft Techno-Functional Consultant (AR & Billing)

Location: Jersey City, NJ (Hybrid Model)

Terms: 6 months Contract

Overview

The PeopleSoft Techno-Functional Consultant will support and enhance PeopleSoft FSCM with a focus on Accounts Receivable (AR) and Billing modules for a 6month hybrid contract in Jersey City, NJ. This role combines hands-on PeopleTools development with functional process expertise across order-to-cash, billing, and receivables.

Key responsibilities

• Work with business stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document requirements for AR and Billing processes, integrations, and reports.
• Configure PeopleSoft FSCM AR and Billing (v9.x/9.2 preferred) including billing setups, customer setups, payment terms, and revenue recognition rules.
• Design and develop technical solutions using PeopleTools (Application Designer, PeopleCode, Application Engine, Component Interface, Integration Broker, BI/XML Publisher, nVision, PS/SQL, and Queries).
• Support day-to-day production issues in AR and Billing: troubleshoot errors, identify root cause, and implement fixes or enhancements following change management standards.
• Participate in full development lifecycle: impact analysis, design, build, unit testing, system testing, UAT support, deployment, and post golive support.
• Develop and maintain functional and technical documentation including design specs, configuration workbooks, test cases, and operations runbooks.
• Collaborate with finance, accounting, and IT teams to ensure solutions align with GAAP/financial controls and organizational policies.
• Optimize batch processes and interfaces related to billing, invoicing, payment applications, and AR aging; monitor jobs and troubleshoot failures.
• Provide knowledge transfer and user guidance on new or changed AR/Billing functionality.

Required qualifications

• 10+ years of experience with PeopleSoft Financials, specifically strong hands-on exposure to AR and Billing modules.
• Proven techno-functional background: ability to translate business requirements into PeopleSoft designs and then build/configure them.
• Strong PeopleTools skills: Application Designer, PeopleCode, Application Engine, Integration Broker, Component Interface, SQR/PS/SQL, and reporting tools (XML/BI Publisher, nVision, PS Query).
• Functional knowledge of end-to-end order-to-cash, customer invoicing, payment processing, cash application, write-offs, and collections.
• Experience supporting or implementing PeopleSoft 9.1/9.2 FSCM in a production environment.
• Excellent communication skills, with experience interacting directly with business users and cross-functional teams in a consulting capacity.
• Ability to work in a hybrid on-site model in Jersey City, NJ for the duration of the 6month contract.

Nice-to-have skills:

• Experience with other PeopleSoft FSCM modules such as GL, AP, Contracts, or Projects.
• Prior experience in financial services or large enterprise environments. Familiarity with integration to external billing, CRM, or payment systems via APIs, web services, or flat-file interfaces.
• Experience with performance tuning of PeopleSoft batch processes and queries.
