Sanford Health is one of the largest and fastest-growing not-for-profit health systems in the United States. The Physician - Infectious Disease position involves no call and covers a wide variety of pathology including HIV, tuberculosis, zoonoses, infections in immunocompromised hosts (oncology), orthopedics, tick borne illness, endemic mycoses, STDs, HCV, Hep C. The physician will collaborate with Sanford ID physicians in the system with weekly case conferences, optional wound care with access to two hyperbaric chambers at Sanford Bemidji, and meet with infection prevention bi-monthly. Sanford Bemidji Medical Center is a 118 bed hospital with a 14 bed ICU and is a Level III trauma center with 27,000 annual patients. The community of Bemidji is noted for its natural beauty and is a four-season destination with a cost of living 17% below the national average. Infectious Disease Core Privileges include performing history and physical examinations, admitting (if applicable), evaluating, diagnosing, consulting, and providing care to patients of all ages with infectious diseases of all types and organ systems. Qualifications include an M.D. or D.O. degree, completion of an Internal Medicine or Pediatric residency program, and fellowship in Infectious Diseases accredited by ACGME, AOA, or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. Board certification or eligibility is required. Experience documentation requirements vary depending on fellowship status. More education and experience may be required for advanced practice.
