Opportunity: Principal Investigator (General Medicine)

Metric Bio is partnering with a high-performing and rapidly expanding clinical site network based in Massachusetts, in the search for an accomplished Principal Investigator specialising in General Medicine . This is a unique opportunity to lead meaningful clinical research, drive innovation, and directly impact patient outcomes within a cutting-edge US-based organisation.

The Role:

As the Principal Investigator, you will provide expert medical leadership across multiple clinical trials, ensuring scientific integrity, regulatory compliance, and the highest standards of patient safety. You’ll be a key contributor in shaping research strategy, guiding clinical teams, and building strong collaborations with sponsors and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the lead Principal Investigator across general medicine clinical trials
  • Oversee all aspects of study conduct, ensuring alignment with protocol, GCP, and FDA standards
  • Conduct medical evaluations, determine eligibility, and monitor patient safety
  • Provide expert input into feasibility assessments and study design
  • Safeguard data quality and ethical integrity across trials
  • Develop and maintain strong sponsor and regulator relationships
  • Mentor and support Sub-Investigators and research teams
  • Champion clinical excellence and continuous process improvement

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • MD/DO with active and unrestricted US medical license.
  • Minimum 5 years’ post-licensure experience in general or internal medicine
  • Direct involvement in 10 or more clinical trials (Phase II–IV preferred) as Principal Investigator or Sub-Investigator.
  • Deep understanding of GCP, FDA regulations, ICH guidelines, and clinical governance
  • Proven track record in clinical leadership and decision-making
  • Excellent communication, patient-centric approach, and collaborative mindset
