Job Description

Product/Application Support Engineer

12+ Months of contract with possibility of extension

Onsite – Mossville, IL

$40-$60 Hourly on W2 only (No C2C/H1B)

Top requirements:

  • MS-Access
  • MS-Excel - Macros and Formulas
  • Configuration Change/Management - Product/Application Database
  • SQL
  • C# or C++ or VB.NET or RUST or Visual Basic Programming language

Typical task breakdown:

  • Each day you will process 10-15 configuration changes in the database for the next software release. This may include adding new parameters or features into the database or changing how they are available.
  • You will run a suite of validation checks after processing each customer request, and understand and resolve any errata.
  • You will document your changes in detail within the tracking software as business partners often dispute their requests and it is necessary for other team members to understand what changes were made, based on the request.

Technical Skills

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Access, including significant experience in the Microsoft Access Query Designer.
  • Working knowledge of SQL.
  • Working knowledge of any higher-level programming language (C#, C++, VB.Net, Java, Rust, etc.).
  • Working knowledge of Excel macros and formulas to automatically generate certain kinds of data.

  • Software Development: Extensive knowledge of software development tools and activities; ability to produce software products or systems in line with product requirements.
  • Requirements Analysis: Extensive knowledge of tools, methods, and techniques of requirement analysis; ability to elicit, analyze and record required business functionality and non-functionality requirements to ensure the success of a system or software development project.
  • Technical Troubleshooting: Working knowledge of technical troubleshooting approaches, tools and techniques; ability to anticipate, recognize, and resolve technical issues on hardware, software, application or operation.

Education & Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering or relevant field required.
  • 4-7+ years’ experience.
