*Recertification Specialist - Subsidized Apartments*
Section 8 / LIHTC recertification Specialist: Professional management company is seeking a Recertification Specialist for a Project Based Section 8 property with a layer of Tax Credits.
Key duties include overseeing tenant relations, managing lease agreements, and facilitating effective communication between residents and management. They play a vital role in ensuring compliance with affordable housing regulations, conducting income verifications, and assisting with the application process for prospective tenants. Additionally, the Recertification Specialist collaborates with maintenance teams to address repairs promptly and manages financial aspects such as rent collection and budget adherence. This role requires a strong commitment to creating a supportive and inclusive living environment while navigating the unique challenges associated with affordable housing.
*Some Responsibilities Include :*
*Annual Recertification Management: *Oversee and manage the annual recertification process for participants in HUD housing programs.
Ensure timely and accurate collection of income, asset, and expense information from program participants.
*Income Verification: *Conduct thorough reviews of financial documents, including pay stubs, tax returns, and other relevant paperwork, to verify participant income.
*Household Composition Review: *Assess changes in household composition and ensure that reported information aligns with program guidelines.
*Expense Assessment: *Review and document changes in participant expenses, such as medical costs or childcare expenses, and incorporate them into the recertification process.
*Housing Unit Inspections: *Coordinate and facilitate housing unit inspections to ensure compliance with HUD housing quality standards, particularly in the context of the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher program.
*Documentation Management: *Collect, organize, and maintain accurate records of all documentation submitted by program participants during the recertification process.
*Client Interaction: *Provide support and guidance to program participants, addressing inquiries and assisting with the completion of recertification documentation.
*Compliance Monitoring: *Monitor and ensure compliance with HUD regulations and guidelines throughout the recertification process.
Full time hourly position, includes liberal benefit package; PTO, health benefits including dental and vision, 401k, paid holidays, etc. We are an EEO/EOE employer.
Salary $25 -$28 /hour DOE
