We have an excellent career opportunity for a Sr. Bioinformatics Scientist to join our growing team. This is a US remote-based position . If you have a comprehensive grasp of genomics and next-generation sequencing, this is an ideal position for you! Position Summary The Sr. Bioinformatics Scientist’s role centers around creating workflows, tools, and algorithms to support assay/product development. They will be skilled at deconstructing problem statements into components resolvable programmatically. They should work well independently, be organized, collaborative, and possess clear communication skills. They will be responsible for scaling pipelines to provide low-cost genetic answers to millions of people and will assist the Clinical team with ad-hoc analysis and research to meet regulatory requirements. Preferred Qualifications Working knowledge of standard bioinformatics tools used in NGS pipelines Experience with pipeline workflow engines like Nextflow, Snakemake Strong knowledge of Genomics and Molecular Biology Solid understanding of Illumina sequencing technologies and metrics Understanding of Cloud Computing Ability to develop high-performance bioinformatics workflows analyzing large NGS data volumes Build and evaluate algorithms and statistical models to enhance genetics applications Collaborate across disciplines by building, deploying, and maintaining software solutions compatible with distributed/containerized systems Develop best practices for NGS data analysis, including parameter optimization and resource utilization Mentor team members in bioinformatics algorithms and statistical techniques, considering accuracy and efficiency Participate in code reviews and analysis sessions to mentor budding engineers/scientists Drive genetics assay method development through critical analysis of experimental data Develop reproducible research analysis pipelines Ensure compliance with Labcorp HIPAA Security policies Maintain a visible profile in the bioinformatics community through publications and collaborations (optional) Education / Experience Masters with 8+ years’ experience in Bioinformatics or Computational Biology PhD with 5+ years’ experience preferred Application window open through: 10/13/24 Salary Range: $155,000 - $185,000 (USD) Benefits Employees working 20+ hours/week are eligible for benefits including Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(k), PTO/FTO, Tuition Reimbursement, and Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
