HonorVet Technologies is seeking a travel nurse RN ICU - Intensive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Mission Viejo, California.

Unit Description – Float Pool Pod A (ICU)

Unit Type: ICU | CICU | SICU
Beds: 47 (27 CICU + 16 SICU)
Patient Population: Neonates, Pediatrics, Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics
Charting: Epic | Pyxis | SBAR communication

Staffing & Ratios

• Patient Ratio: 1:2 (Days/Nights/Weekends)
• Shift Length: 12 hours
  • Nights: 19:00–07:30
• Float Required: Yes (within scope to lower acuity units)
• Call: Yes
• Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend (minimum 6 weekend shifts/contract)
• Scheduling: Block/Self

Provider & Support Services

• Intensivist, Hospitalist, NP, CRNA – In-house 24/7
• Respiratory Therapy, IV Team, Lift Team, Transport, Pharmacy, Phlebotomy, RRT, Radiology, PT, Social Services, Interpreter

Certifications Required

• Required: BLS, ACLS
• Preferred: NIHSS, TNCC, PALS

Skills & Experience

• Minimum 1 year ICU experience required
• Ratio experience: 1:2
• Must have: Cardiac & Vasoactive drip titration, ventilator management, CRRT, EVD/ICP monitoring, cardiac post-op, ECMO exposure, ABG interpretation, arterial/Central line care, chest tubes, sedation management, rapid response.
• Neuro, cardiac, trauma and post-surgical experience preferred.
• Teaching or community hospital experience accepted.

• Orientation: 24 hours
• Scrubs: Royal Blue (provided)
• Traveler Friendly: Yes (accepts 1st time travelers)
• Pre-Approved PTO: 1–2 requests per contract
• Weekend: Required
• Float: Required
