Job Details:

• Work 3x12 or 4x12 hour shifts with rotating schedule (won't rotate within 4-week schedule but must be able to work either shift during contract)
\n• Patient ratios 1:2 for days, nights, and weekends
\n• 36 guaranteed hours per week (facility allowed to call off 3x throughout 13-week assignment)
\n• 4 weekend shifts per schedule required for day shift, 4-5 for night shift (Friday, Saturday, Sunday nights considered weekends)
\n• Float to NICU required; may be asked to resource float to Peds ED for IVs and medication assistance
\n• 1.5 years of experience required (PICU experience must be recent within last 2 years)
\n• First-time travelers accepted
\n• Level I trauma experience required with strong trauma skills
\n• Required certifications: BLS, PALS, New Mexico license
\n• No RQI certifications accepted
\n• CRRT and ECMO procedure experience, ventilators, working knowledge of inotropic drips required
\n• Care for patients with respiratory distress/failure, renal failure, trauma, CRRT, ECMO, heme/onc, multi-system organ failure, suicide attempts
\n• 36-hour orientation required
\n• Black scrubs (not provided)
\n• Cerner charting system
\n• Free parking
\n• No locals within 75-mile radius accepted
\n• Overtime after 48 hours must be pre-approved (approval rare)
\n• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)

This is a Level I trauma center and children's hospital that serves as a major teaching facility with 554 total staffed beds. The facility operates as a short-term acute care hospital with comprehensive pediatric services including a 20-bed PICU with daily census of 15 patients. The hospital features interdisciplinary support including physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and unit secretary support. As a certified comprehensive stroke center, the facility maintains high standards for specialized care and offers advanced procedures and equipment for critically ill pediatric patients.
