Utilization Management Coordinator

Join Streamwood Behavioral Healthcare System as a full?time Utilization Management Coordinator. In this role you will conduct admission and concurrent reviews, act as the liaison for 3rd and 4th party reviewers, maintain all utilization data, appeal denials, track and report trends in MIDAS, and provide staff and physician education on documentation and utilization management practices.

Responsibilities

• Conduct admission and concurrent reviews in accordance with the hospital wide Utilization Management Plan
• Serve as the liaison to 3rd and 4th party reviewers and conduct focused reviews as directed by the Utilization Management Committee
• Maintain all records/data required through the UM Plan and Committee
• Appeal denied authorizations of dates of services when medical necessity for continued care is evident
• Track and report denials in MIDAS
• Participate in staff and physician education relative to medical record documentation
• Actively participate in the UM Committee to track data and trends and improve quality of systems relative to the UM Plan

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or Master's Degree in Psychology or a mental/health/human services field (required)
• Minimum of 3 years direct clinical experience in a medical?psychiatric, psychiatric or mental health setting (required)
• At least 2 years experience in utilization management (required)
• Skills in consumer assessment, family motivation, treatment planning, and communication with external review organizations preferred
• LPC, LSW, LCPC, or LCSW licensure highly preferred (primary source verification required through Illinois Department of Professional Regulations)
