• Department:  Vascular Access
• Schedule:  Full time, night shift, working 3 12hr shifts/week from 7:00pm - 7:00am, rotating weekends and holidays, self-scheduling
• Hospital:  Ascension Via Christi, St Francis
• Location:  Wichita, KS

Responsibilities

Provide direct nursing care to patients requiring insertion and maintenance of peripherally
inserted catheters in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the
healthcare organization.

• Insert peripherally placed central venous, central lines, mid-line and peripheral I.V. catheters.
  Monitor, record and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
• Serve as a resource regarding insertion and maintenance of peripherally inserted catheters, all
  vascular access device products and procedures.
• Evaluate status of interventions and patient goals for the purpose of reassessment, revision of plan of care and discharge planning.
• Provide instruction and information to staff, patients and their families regarding use and care of
  peripherally inserted catheters, midlines, central lines and peripheral I.V.s.

Requirements

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Kansas Board of Nursing required.

Education:

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.

Additional Preferences

• BSN Bachelors of Science Nursing preferred
