We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Welder/Fabricator II to join our dynamic Fabrication department at Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL). In this role, you will be responsible for performing high-quality welding and fabrication tasks, ensuring precision and adherence to safety standards. Your expertise will contribute to the creation and maintenance of various metal structures and components, playing a crucial part in our production process.

The schedule for this position is Monday through Friday 3:00PM to 11:30PM. As a Welder/Fabricator II, a typical day will include the following: \n - Train less experienced staff to set up and manually operate the CNC equipment to produce complex parts to specification.
\n - Train others about manufacturability. Promptly share relevant information with stakeholders.
\n - Improve processes and capable of executing required maintenance activities.
\n - Learn and apply SEL Values, Principles of Operations, and World Class Manufacturing Principles.
\n - Understand. Create. Simplify.
\n - Other duties as assigned.

This job might be for you if you have: \n - Trade school degree or 6 years of shop experience
\n - Advance experience in the field required
\n - Proficient with applicable computer software as relevant
\n - Service attitude, quality and OTP for internal customer
\n - Strong math skills
\n - Ability to accurately measure parts
\n - Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills
\n - Ability to teach and learn new skills, open to take on new responsibilities, and train others
\n - Ability to motivate others to work cooperatively in a team environment
\n - Background check results satisfactory to SEL
\n - Negative drug test result(s)

Pay Range Data: New hires generally start between $20.77- $31.15 per hour. We base our starting pay offer on location and job-related factors such as candidate experience, training, knowledge, and skills. Our salary ranges are determined by job, responsibility, and location.
