CV Resources is partnering with an established manufacturing company in Oak Grove/Milwaukie to identify a Cost Accountant for its team. This is a fully onsite direct hire opportunity with full benefits. Proven experience with cost accounting and advanced Excel proficiency is required without exception.

You’ll play a key role in ensuring accurate job costing, inventory control, and margin analysis while partnering cross-functionally with production, operations, and leadership. RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Collects, compiles, and maintains cost information for accurate reporting and decision-making.
• Develops and improves systems and procedures for cost accumulation and cost accounting functions.
• Reviews and analyzes actual costs, identifying and correcting inaccuracies using variance analysis.
• Prepares and presents departmental and company-wide budgeting and cost reports.
• Analyzes and reports on actual job profit margins to support leadership decisions.
• Performs reconciliations of all inventory accounts, including WIP.
• Ensures accurate posting of job cost data and corrects misclassifications or errors.
• Calculates and maintains current costs for manufactured parts and standard steel costs.
• Supports production costing for parts, assemblies, and material cut sheets.
• Prepares cost estimates for spare parts orders and quotes as requested.
• Assists with and backs up Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions.
• Prepares progress billings and assists with month-end and year-end closings.
• Collaborates with production, engineering, and purchasing teams to ensure accurate costing of materials and labor.
• Provides cost reduction analysis and recommendations to management.
• Supports audits and financial planning activities with cost data and reconciliations.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
• 3+ years of cost accounting or manufacturing accounting experience required.
• Strong knowledge of inventory accounting, job costing, and manufacturing processes.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (intermediate to advanced) and ERP/accounting systems.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work across departments.
• Self-starter with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
